Leanne provides teaching and support across all equestrian disciplines. You can choose to have a one-to-one or group session depending on what you prefer. Lessons can be booked as a one-off, weekly or on a block basis.
• Dressage – flatwork is a key foundation for all equestrian disciplines and a competitive sport in its own right. If you get the basics right, with a horse or pony that will listen and respond to your aids it’s the basis for a fruitful partnership. Leanne can train all partnershipsfrom intor to advanced level dressage.
• Show Jumping – transferring your groundwork into the jumping arena to negotiate a complete course, tackle bigger and higher jumps or learn how to manage a jump-off.
• Cross country – combining your flatwork and jumping skills to undertake a course with solid fences. Learn how to plan, navigate and execute different obstacles.
All these skills can be taught at Eastwell Equestrian Centre on our all-weather riding surface or Leanne can travel to your yard and teach you in a familiar surrounding. Alternatively, you can hire separate facilities, a riding arena or local cross country course, for a private lesson.
Leanne is always flexible and keen to understand what you want to do with your horse or pony. Why not call her today for a chat.
NB: we are not a riding school and all lessons are on your horse.
Aimed at targeting particular equestrian challenges for riders or issues with your horse/pony. There is a range of intensive training programmes available. Ideally based at Eastwell Equestrian on short-term livery, Leanne will work with you to fix these.
Six-week fitness, flexibility and forward – work on issues such as improving the horse to be more obedient, off the leg and supple. This will help with straightness and contact to give you more points in dressage or clear rounds when jumping.
Teach my horse to canter- this is a very popular request. Depending on the age of the horse and fitness, training a horse to canter can be challenging. This can be done as a one-to-one with the owner or in two phases where the horse is taught to canter first then with the owner.
Two-week safety school- work on being safe with your horse in any situation, such as spooking, napping, running off etc. Learn how working in the school will help with these issues to make you feel safe, more confident and secure.
10-week fitness/schooling package - building horse fitness for eventing or endurance riding. This includes hacking, road work, schooling, canter fitness and galloping. Depending on the level of fitness to begin with this option can be tailored.
ROR training- straight off the racecourse can be challenging for owners of these horses. Again, depending on temperament/fitness a package for this can be tailored accordingly.
If you can’t see what you need in these packages give me a call to discuss and I can look at something specific to your needs.
If you've outgrown your horse/pony and need to find one that takes you to the next level or you’re looking for one that matches your riding ability, Leanne can help you find the perfect partner. She will start by understanding what you need and then with a large network of contacts, a search can begin. She will support you throughout and give you all the advice and guidance you want.
If you have a horse/pony that needs to find a new owner Leanne can also help with this. She will take the stress away from the selling process.
“I only met Leanne 12 months ago through a friend. Taking up riding later in life I have a 9-year-old gelding cob who knew his strength so all I wanted was to feel in control rather than him. Never thought in a million years I would compete but through consistent flatwork training I'm a regular dressage competitor, and have actually won, have even tried jump cross which would never have been possible without Leanne’s support – quite amazing for me.”
"It was lovely to go on holiday and not worry about my horse. I knew he was safe and being well looked after and well ridden"
"I love how Leanne teaches. She really explains why I am doing something not just tells me to do it!"
" Thank you so much for today. It was really good fun. I repeated the exercise with him. You would not have recognised him as the horse I dragged off the hunting field to Stainfield that day. I dumped some haylage bales by the school. It freaked him out. His elevation and self-carriage would give any horse a run for their money. He loved your exercises. More please."
